The J Pillow Travel Pillow provides outstanding head, neck and chin support, thanks to its innovative, award-winning design. The polyester fiber filling is comfortable and soft whilst still providing support. And the soft, plush outer finish feels fantastic. To top it off its 100% machine washable. An outstanding travel pillow from J Pillow!

|Size (packed down)||About 7 x 6 x 4 inches|
As the number one selling travel pillow on Amazon you would hope that the J Pillow is very comfortable, and I can happily say that it passes with flying colours! Its symmetrical design means you can use the pillow on your left or right side. The finish of the J Pillow is incredibly soft and plush, and its polyester fiber filling is nice and soft whilst still providing support.
To use the J Pillow simply take the tail of the J and tuck it under your chin, the arms of the J wrap around the side of your face. Alternatively, wrap the tail of the J around the back of your neck, and the arms of the J wrap around the length of your face. If that sounds confusing, check out this video by the inventor of the J Pillow – former flight attendant Gemma Jensen.
The great thing about the J Pillow is the support that it provides to your chin. By tucking the tail of the J underneath your chin it prevents your head from dropping forwards as you drift off to sleep. This extra chin support helps reduce neck stiffness after a long flight. You can also sort of lean into it – so even when you are leaning backwards against a chair, it almost feels like you’re leaning against something. Great news if you don’t have a window seat!
The J Pillow is even more comfortable when there is solid surface to lean against (ie, an aeroplane window). But it is still extremely comfortable when there is no side support on offer (ie, an aisle seat).
The J Pillow certainly excels in the design department, there being no better example than it winning British Invention of the Year in 2013. And the large number of J pillows imitations flooding the market place back this up – they do say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
The J Pillow’s ground-breaking design is unlike any other pillow that came before it. There is no disputing the fact that the J Pillow looks a little different. Somewhat resembling a 3-D letter J, it also bares a slightly uncomfortable resemblance to a certain part of the male anatomy. But there is no disputing that its unique shape provides excellent head, neck and chin support.
At 11.8 x 7.9 x 13 inches, the J Pillow is certainly not the smallest travel pillow on the market. But by balling it up and tying it with a strap it packs down to about 7 x 6 x 4 inches. This can allow you to stuff it into a carry on-sized bag (providing you have the space to spare).
Whilst travelling, the most practical method is to use the handy snap loop which lets you clip it onto your suitcase. The polyester fiber is nice and light, so weight is not an issue with this travel pillow.
The J Pillow is in the mid-level price range for travel pillows, and for the level of comfort it provides it certainly represents excellent value. Being able to get a peaceful sleep on a long-distance flight is a wonderful thing, we’d certainly recommend the J Pillow at this price.
It is also 100% machine washable, which is great news. You won’t be needing to replace it any time soon!
- Excellent head, neck and chin support
- 2013 British Invention of the Year
- Luxurious soft material
- Unorthodox appearance can take some getting used to
- A little on the large side
Overall I was very, very impressed by the J Pillow. Its innovative, award-winning design provides outstanding head, neck and chin support. And the material is soft and comfortable to sleep against. The only things counting against it are its slightly unusual appearance, and its size. Highly recommended.
