The Kmall Inflatable Travel Pillow will be the first I’ve reviewed from this company. At first look it appears to be a solid choice for those looking for something portable and inflatable.

I have a love/hate relationship with inflatable pillows. There seems to be a large divide when it comes to inflatable travel pillows. They either seem to be comfortable 95% of the time or just not comfortable at all. The Kmall Inflatable Travel Pillow thankfully scrapes by into the 95% group.
At first glance, it’s shaped ergonomically to create small barriers where most of your weight might be. It has pretty good left/right head tilt protection. However, like most pillows that don’t clip around at the front, it doesn’t do much in the way of forward movement.
My other issue is that the pillow is more comfortable with a bit of air deflated. Once deflated, you lose the firm support that you once had. This is the same for back neck support. Thankfully, the Kmall Inflatable Travel Pillow allows just the right amount of space at the back for me.
The greatest thing about the Kmall Inflatable Travel Pillow is the Coolmax outer material. It’s cool to the touch and excellent at repelling moisture and heat. If these are issues that keep you awake while flying or resting, keep reading!
Let’s talk a little more about the engineered polyester/cotton blend that is Coolmax. It’s used mostly in sports wear (to counter sweat and heat) and mattress covers for the same reason. Not only is it resistant to these elements, it’s also relatively soft to the touch. You’re not going to have the same soft feel you may get from other velvet or faux chiffon fabrics. This doesn’t really matter however if it doesn’t irritate and keeps moisture and temperature down.
There’s an in built pump that I really like. It takes about a minute to inflate using this pump and seconds to deflate. Great for germaphobes! There is a small hump on the outer back edge to assist in proper head position which works fairly well.
There’s also a sleeve created by extra fabric. Although perhaps not fully practical for an iPhone, it’s good for stashing smaller things (headphones maybe?). The cover is washable and the pillow can be used by kids too. Kmall recommend 8 years plus.
While I’m talking design I might as well mention – it looks great! A really stylish design, nice colors and shape. I’m a fan!
Most inflatable travel pillows score really well in portability for obvious reasons. The Kmall Inflatable Travel Pillow comes with it’s own stylish carry bag. It looks pretty cool and functions fine. I’m not sure if it’s the extra material but I did expect it to fold down a little more. It’s also a little heavier than expected but nothing you can’t handle I’m sure!
It’s easy enough to deflate however and not too much of a struggle to get it in the bag. It also comes with a little latch so you can tie it to just about anything. Maybe a little heavy and bulky for an inflatable travel pillow but still better than something like the Homecube.
Taking into account the design, Coolmax material and general quality of the pillow, I think it’s great value. As I was researching, I found something interesting: The Aircomfy Daydreamer inflatable pillow. Look familiar? Exactly the same product shape, micro-velvet instead of Coolmax, no extra sleeve. As of today, it’s the same price too.
Which is the better value? It’s hard to say, but my money is on the Kmall Inflatable Travel Pillow for now. It comes down to what you’d prefer. If you like the design and functionality of this particular inflatable pillow, you can choose what features you like more and go from there. Good luck!
- Coolmax material excellent to counter heat
- Easy to inflate/deflate
- Machine washable cover
- Unexpected bulk when folded
- No forward head tilt support
There's a lot to like about the Kmall Inflatable Travel Pillow. Independently, all the features add up. The zip is well hidden, there's a cool sleeve to stash your smaller belongings and the Coolmax material is excellent and dealing with heat and moisture. It does however suffer from the same restraints as other U shaped inflatable pillows in terms of comfort. Well worth a try.
